Introduction to QBO (QuickBooks Online)

Intro to QBO Class Description:

If you run a business, keeping good financial records is crucial to your business decisions and your tax returns! Learn how to manage your company by using QuickBooks Online, the web-based version.  No prerequisite knowledge needed. We will provide you with a with a free QuickBooks manual where you can take notes.

The class will be recorded and saved in “My Class Recordings” for you to review at your convenience!

Beginner through Intermediate

Directions to PELA (Portland English Language Academy):

 

The Portland English Language Academy (PELA) is located on the 3rd floor in the northwest corner of the Lloyd Center across from Carrington College.  Guests can look for Portland English Language Academy on any of the Lloyd Center directories.

To reach our space from the Lloyd Center MAX Station, enter the Lloyd Center through the large glass doors off of NE Multnomah St. next to Macy’s. Take the circular staircase to the 3rd (top) floor.  Turn left and proceed down the corridor. The entrance to our space will be all the way down the corridor on the right (north) side.

Guests who prefer to use an escalator or elevator will find them on the far side of the ice rink that they will see to their right as they enter the large glass doors.

Guests can call 503-226-1656 to reach the PELA office, or call Jamie at 503-504-6392.

For guests who are driving to the Lloyd Center, enter the parking garage at NE Halsey St. & NE 10th Ave.  Take the circular ramp in the northwest corner of the parking garage to Floor 3 (the top floor).  Enter the Lloyd Center at the entrance that can be seen from the top of the ramp.  PELA is located just inside this entrance.  Parking is free.

QBO Mobile App In the Field

QBO Mobile App In the Field Class Description

QuickBooks Online is the perfect software to use on a smartphone or tablet while you’re providing services to clients. The Mobile App has features the website doesn’t! Reduce paperwork by creating Estimates and Invoices onsite, with signatures. Eliminate after-the-fact accounting by using your camera to take pictures of receipts. Use third-party apps to keep track of employee timecards and schedules. In this hands-on workshop we’ll demonstrate the specific workflow steps you’ll use to do your bookkeeping while in the field with your customers. The more you can do on the fly, the less you have to do in the office!

QB Payments Credit Card Processing

QB Payments Credit Card Processing Class Description

If you use QBO, take credit cards with QB Payments. The rates are competitive with Square and PayPal. Even better, save time and money with automation. Your clients can pay their invoices online. You can run recurring payments automatically. QuickBooks Online takes the fees out in separate transaction, instead of deducting them from the bank deposit and confusing you, like PayPal does. And best of all, QuickBooks will batch deposit payments so that you don’t have do the work.

One of the newest features in accounting software like QuickBooks is the opportunity to connect your bank accounts and credit cards. This allows you to pull in your transactions and classify them automatically, instead of entering everything in by hand. But…it has some interesting quirks you need to know about, as well as automation features like Rules that do the work for you.

Once you’re up to date, we’ll also show you how to reconcile your accounts at the end of the month so that you can have confidence in your numbers.
